we certainly do! if you call into customer service, or go into your local retail store they'll be able to tell if you're eligable for an upgrade and what discounts on handsets they'll be able to offer you!

But I believe that cingular has nothing like the Customer First Program, that you might be thinking of. They do upgrades within 90 days of the end of your contract, unless your targeted for particular promotion. Is this correct telesales?

as far as i've been instructed here at telesales is that a customer is only eligable at their one year anniversary, and then again at each year anniversary. this can change based on the customers account status (basically if they paid their bill on time or not). other than that i don't believe a customer can get an upgrade price unless through a targeted sale.

so yes, i would say that you are correct.

Ok, I'm confused. Let's say I want to upgrade my phone and I'm off contract. I have to wait till the date that I originally singed the contract or be targetted?

Let me understand....

If I activated 1 new number and uppgraded 2 phones to GSM (with AT&T Wireless) on 6/17/2004, that I would be eligible to upgrade on 6/17/2005 ???

And that I could expect to receive some kind of offer from Telesales or Customer Service ????

Thanks

you can upgrade (assuming you are on gsm) after 11 months of a 1 year contract or 21 months of a 2 year contract.

Upgrade Program...

Former AT&T customers who have not migrated to Cingular phones and plans are eligible for the discount same as if they were a new customer.

Current Cingular customers are eligible for upgrades at 11 months of a 1 year contract or at 21 months of a 2 year contract. There is one exception. If you are on a 2 year contract and YOUR phone number spends $75 a month before taxes, you are eligible for an upgrade after 12 months on the 2 year contract.

This means if you are on the 84.99, 1500 minute plan and have 3 family ties then the primary phone paying 84.99 will be eligible at any point 12 months after it does a 2 year contract but the 3 family ties paying 9.99 a month would be eligible 21 months into the same 2 year...

Wait. My bill is 94.00 a month before taxes. Why when i called customer care did they give me the 21 month date instead of the year? Is the one year upgrade something i have to special request? Or is it limited to certain markets? If so, i'm in Jackson, MS...would i be eligible? Thanks for any info you have because i just paid full price for a v551 3 weeks ago and i'm going to be upset if i was eligible for upgrade.
