Family Talk Plan

does anyone else think it's weird that our nation wide plans are the same as our family talk plans?

i think almost every other carrier has it that the family plan includes the first two lines. i wonder if we're ever going to catch on with this.

in fairness, us (VZW) just started doing this a couple of moths ago, its not c huge savings for the customers but it really helps sales

what do you mean it's not huge savings? i would imagine that any customer would jump at not having to pay for the second line. i mean, it totally makes sense to me, that's why i have a verizon phone and a cingular phone.

i asked because i had just gotten a call where a customer asked why we weren't doing this same sort of offer and i really couldn't give them a reason. i mean, offering them rollover only goes so far.

My god, reps whining about plans, that just too weak!!!you are not hired to critique them, you are there to offer different options and plans available, thats it!!!!

your an idiot

I think it IS the dumbest thing I have ever heard of that the 2nd line costs to add on.

they need to have set family plans, not just add a line on existing plans

I think you are the idiot, they do have a set of family plans, it just happens that at this time the offers for minutes and price are the same, but you don't just just add a line to a existing plan, unless you are on a family plan first, if you aren't you can add a line but you aren't sharing until you are on a family version of the plan.

What I mean is our Faimly plan with 2 lines is $59.99 for 500 minutes.

It use to be 400 minutes for $39.99 plus $20 for the second line

So It use to be $59.99 for 400 shared minutes compared to 500 minutes now, ok its a better deal now but its still only a hundred minutes difference, sorry 🙄

yeah, i can see what you mean. i guess i'd have to say it's better to just pay a little more and get a heck of a lot more minutes. i mean, even our $49.99 plan has 600 minutes, you know?

VZ Familiy Share plans are almost the same as Cingular Family Talk.
-VZ $79.99 for 1000 mins. first two lines
-Cingular-$79.98 for 1100 mins for first two lines ( $69.99 + $9.99 )
each add on line are both @ $9.99 extra
So.. in my opinion it's all just a marketing gimmick.

Could be worse, with NEXTEL the second line is $19.99, even on a $100.00 plan, look for yourself 🙄

yeah, that definitely is pretty bad. so i guess we have it better than some carriers. but still, IF I WAS THE HEAD OF THE COMPANY i would change it. but then again, i would change a lot of things.

but since i'm not, i can just keep posting on message boards and watch nothing get done. yay!

Not to stick up for Nextel at all, but that is a good reason why their ARPU is so high... Their plans are ridiculously high and people pay them. Go figure, if I pitch a $100 plan, they tell me to go and jump off a bridge, if the Nextel guy down the hall does, they say, "Wow that sounds good." 🙄

yeah, but a lot of people like the "walkie talkie" feature that nextel offers. i think that's a big deterrent to cingular service. but i've heard rumors that we're supposed to get that within this year *crosses fingers*

The walkie talkie thing is a joke, 85% of people (if not more) have no practical use for it besides the "cool" feature

AND walkie talkies were out way before cellular phones, so I am trying to figure out why people would want them to begin with, 😕

What would be the point of having a walkie talkie feature with Cingular? Would it be free to talk to other Cingular people like Nextel's is? That'd be nice, because I'm so tired of having my minutes wasted talking to other Cingular peeps. It'd be nice if I had a button on the side that would allow me to talk to them for free. Oh, wait, n/m, Mobile2Mobile is out now. So, what's the benefit of PTT?
