If a customer orders a phone online will COR stores activate them for the customer if they bring them in?

It should just require you to dial *862 from the cell to activate it.

Just tell them to press *862, they have to accept T&C anyway so they still have to do it, all we can do is hold their hand while they are doing it (figure of speech)

Or call the IVR 1-866-895-1099 to accept the terms and conditions. You can do it for them with the last for the SSN and billing zip...it's super easy and what all migrations are told to call in their welcome kits. I've done it for customers before..especially older customers.

Yes but we are told not to do it for them because then they can claim they never agreed to it. CYA is the best policy ive ever known. (and no I didnt learn that at Cingular) I would not do that for a customer because I don't want it coming back on me.

You have just pointed out in another related post about contracts. Now how are they gonna be held to a contract if you are activating it for them by agreeing to the t&c for them.all they have to say is they had the rep or dealer activate it for me, i never knew it was a contract, and you they have a good legal arguement.Thats why they have to do it themselves.

I do understand contracts. I must have written my post a little unclear. I go through the IVR with them and do everything except accept the agreement. I have a three party call.

Yup..and instruct them if they get lost...i've only had to do this once or twice..usually it isn't too hard for customers to understand. I've only had extremely elderly need help before. 😎

Also depnds on who they ordered it from, cuz their is either our website which would be *862, or from a indirect location and they would be given a new number and service, so if they were an existing customer and upgrade through our website, Shayby is right on the money, but if its from a IND. site, i would not touch it at a store, cuz they maybe did a little thing like "phantom Churn"

Yeah that new number would work for indirect but all they are going to do at a Corp store if that is the case is call customer service.

Not typically, although I just did one this morning. Typically I hand the cust. the sheet that tells them how to activate thier phone, but today the customer made it sound more complicated (It wasn't they were just lazy and made me miss out on a preaty healty rush).
