Cingular Roaming in Costa Rica/

Miguelito

Has anyone out there accomplished this???
I know that CR has TDMA in the frequencies used by Cingular and that some of the rentamo'vil (cell phone rental companies) there use Motorola phones equiv. to my Mot. V60 Ti.
I expect that the coverage will be sub-par. Having the Mobile Phone industry completely monopolized by the nationalized electric company does not bode well for technological innovation ---- However... I just want to know that in a pinch I can use my Cingular phone to call within the country or back to the U.S., even if it does cost muchos dolares cada minuto to talk!

I have been through 2 different (so-called) CSRs at Cingulars cust. support line and just now I left a local Cingular office where I annoyed a rep. there who obviously would rather have been signing up new customers.

Can anyone out there give me any personal experience on using a Cing. TDMA Phone in CR and if so, anything that I need to do before I leave the country,

Muchisisimas gracias!!
Miguel
