So I Made The Switch....
I changed from VZW to AT&T.... I didn't like the android offerings, so im trying out the iphone 3gs....
I noticed that on 3g data is slower than verizons evdo network, is the possible or am I just being parinoid?
Edge speeds aren't as fast as 1x either....which confuses me i guess on both accounts.....
Could it just be the iphone, should I consider the captivate even though I haven't been impressed by samsung in the past???? if the aria was a 3.5 or 3.7" screen i would be all over it....
Any suggestions? Atleast I have the 30 days to return it. I kept my vzw service active just in case and got a new ## from at&t....

What's your zip if you don't mind me asking. The browsing experience on the iPhone is unmatched. The speeds your experiencing don't sound accurate of what they should be. Do a speed test. You can download the speedtest.net app for free.

Chicago. Lots of outages but also hundreds of cell sites. You may be experiencing what everyone else complains about. I guess Chicago is slower than it should be. Let us know how the speed tests go. Both Edge and 3G.

It's the same reason people buy the LG Ally/Motorola Devour/etc when they're within 100 (or less) of high end phones.
American Consumes DO NOT understand phone pricing. If they did, they'd avoid a lot of issues.

Edge speeds are usually on par with 1x, but HSDPA is quite a bit faster than EVDO.....are you sure you have 3G ENABLED on your iPhone?

In my area...the coverage maps show great coverage....but sometimes I only have 1 bar on VZW and all on at&t...or ill have 1 bar and at&t and all bars on verizon...yes, bars don't equal signal...but just a statement...when the coverage is 1 or 2 bars voice calls are choppy and I cannt hear the other end.
