Discount on phone

If I am one year into a two year conntract, can I get any kind of a discount on a phone? may if I renew a new two year?

Pricing differs by state. You have to buy it in your state or it wont work on your account.

I have never understood that, why would a phone you buy out of state not work?

Because of the different markets. There are different billing systems so if your in a different market then normal the store won't be able to access your account.

You do not have to buy it in your state if you are buying w/o a contract. Also, the phone will work in any market. The activation is controlled by SIM and we use 64k SIM's on 410 now.

Ok let me re-word that. 😛 If you buy it at a store that isn't in your market they won't be able to access your account. Better?!?

that's wrong, all phone come from the same warehouse, you can buy a phone in any state and it will work on your account. I am a CARE market and i sell phone to TELEGENCE customers all the time.
