Initially, I went into my local (at school) cingular store to perform the migration but was told they could not do it for me because my number was in a different market. I called customer service to do a migration over the phone but was informed that they would not ship my phone to an address that was in a different area from my home market. They told me to go to the store and do it. You have to have everything the same local number, local billing address, local shipping address all have to be in that same market. Its to prevent Fraud, like getting a number based on where we have service and then taking the phone and using it regularly where we may not have lots of coverage ,and costs the company money by you roaming on the local carriers towers.

Austin, I haven't used the migration tool in a while. Can you even change the address when your using that or does it automatically populate?
You can change it, but it goes against and verifies what in siebel.so you have to have it changed in siebel, also in siebel if you look it has based on your number the primary usage area, so you have to send to an adress with the primary usage area.

Yeah definately understandable. I can't tell you how many people called in and claimed fraud saying somebody else ordered equipment and charged it to their account. That sucked!
I know, but thats not the fraud i meant, OREA fraud is like this: You live in say Omaha, where say we have no service, cept roaming off another carrier, so they get a service with a new york number where we have service while really living in the area where we don't offer coverage.
They do it to get really good plans and minutes, and costs the company a small fortune.
