I use to work customer service for sprintpcs and now I am sales with cingular...
I must say, I miss the drama of the customer service calls. I would hear the most outrageous stories....and sad to say, I miss irate, cursing customers 😢
...
Call austin316, he'll curse at you if you sorely miss it.
...
ohh yes i love irate customers because they threaten and threaten and there isn't a damn thing they can do.
i would never switch over to sales because quite frankly i would hate getting ripped off on my comission. i mean, they akready do that with every freaking add a line sale i make and to have them do that on even bigger sales with more comission at stake...
no thank you!
...
I like that I make more money in sales but I think I just enjoyed coming to work when I did customer service.
...
THANK YOU! I know someone feels my pain!!!!! 😡
...

I was cursed out about my race and I was like.... ummmmmm I'm not white, can we use the correct racial slurs? 😛
...
ohhh boy.
one lady told me she was going to throw me into the ocean.
i was like yay c'mon let's go. i'd love to be at the ocean right now!!
oh and gotta love being hit on by guys calling in for customer service. those are the best.
...
oh the hit on calls are the worse!
...
ive had quire a few racist calls where people call me a white bitch and white devil and mofo and hillbilly and "i bet your married to your sister " got to love people that discriminate on a southern voice ! i had one guy that called in and sounded about 17 and the account holder was 72 but he knew the social and dob so after he cussed me and threatened to leave i asked him for his drivers lic number and he cussed me some more and then told him i would trans him to the dept to help him (fraud dept) spoke with fraud told them the deal that he prop fraudulently used his grampas info to get account activated ! fraud talked to him disconnected the line called the real customer and he had no idea that he even had an account so moral of this story ...

i love that customers forget we have all of there information right in front of them. it is kind of like you don't mess with the man making your food type of deal.

I think I'ld rather have Cust Serv. I work sales now & your right, we do get ripped off for our activations also. Also, if I'm going to listen to these whiny azz cust's......I might as well get paid for it.
...
i work in sales on the orange side and our payout isn't that bad, but sometimes i think i'd rather be in customer service, since at least that way i might be able to help the customers i get!
xoxo
...
you work in the call center?
...
I work in an Orange call center & 75% of our calls are not even sales related. 10% don't have a credit card, 10% just want information & with the remaining 5% we have to squeeze a 12% close ratio out of there somewehere. Same as the previous reply. I'ld rather be in Cust Serv that way I can actually help the majority of the people that call in here. Or atleast make these centers an all-in-one centers.
...
when I was with Sprint doing CS... we did it ALL...customer service and activations. The only thing I had to worry about there is call handle time and quality scores
...
yeah, i work in the new call center in Syracuse, New York. it's just a telesales department but i think we're going to be doing more Sun Comm migrations soon.
yay.

I've worked in sales for 2 years for a Cingular agent, and 2 years for GNC. I also worked customer service/tech support for eMachines computer company. They both have had their ups and downs. I like the performance driven aspect of sales, but I have to admit I had some serious laughs from some of the call-in customers I experienced in customer service.
Story time--one of the cust. svc reps I worked with at eMachines received a threatening call from a customer one time, who basically said he knew where our office was, and he was going to come kill this person. The rep waved down his neighbor, passed him a note explaining the situation along with the customer's name and address (from the account notes), and the 2nd cust svc rep called a...
