Whatever...every company has it's up's an downs....Just wait till the Sprint/Nextel merger hits and see how good either Cingular or Verizon does.

I hate to tell you but both sprint and nextel are terrible... In case you didn't see Nextel only added 300,000 customers not including boost even with boost they are well shy of a million adds for the quarter... I mean T-mobile even has more customers now than Nextel.. Face it Nextel was failing as was ATT and now Cingular is feeling the wrath of taking on a failing company, as will Sprint. Meanwhile while those companies will take years to recoop and by that time Verizon will be so far ahead it won't matter what will you say then except for you were right! face it Verizon is rolling out technology faster than anyone and they will continue to lead the pack for years to come.. HSDPA I'll believe it when I see it all talk and no action is what...

My calls are crystal clear. And in one week, I can have NO problems with Cingular. I'll admit, every now and then (in the past at least, I think it was a problem with the phone I had) I will have a problem, but that's expected with all carriers, as much as I don't like it. And what's the point of having the largest coverage? I rarely travel outside of the Gulf Coast area of Texas, so why would I care if I can get great coverage in Wyoming?

Does anyone know what the outage was attributed to? I lost connectivity for a couple of hours tonight (Chicago area), however, it was restored around 10.

I was off yesterday I will look into it and post tonight. Some outages are planned because of either network problems or netowrk upgrades.

Dude?? Are you blind??? Verizon rolling out technology??? Yeah, that's why they cripple their bluetooth phones, so they can charge for wireless internet and multimedia messaging...yeah, that's a real advancement. Cingular's 3G network will rule all, btw. But nextel and sprint have some great plans...especially for their data services. Nextel failing??? Nextel has one of the lowest churn rates, and some of the most loyal customers in the industry. I work in cingular telesales, and over 50% of the time, when a customer threatens to cancel, they mention nextel as the carrier they will go to. Can you hear this??? Verizon cripples their phones, markets to stupid people (which is obviously why you are defending them) and still requires a contract extension just to change the rate plan!! Why do you think verizon still has so many customers?? They use every excuse in the world to keep customers in a contract, and nobody wants to pay the ETF. Did you notice that Sony is now selling laptops that EXCLUSIVELY use Cingular's EDGE netowrk in addition to WiFi. Did you notice that Dell will be making Laptops that will EXCLUSIVELY use Cingular's HSDPA? where's these kind of exclusive deals for Verizon?

and as far as "believe it when you see it", stop by Atlanta one of these days and ask around or Dallas..there are 6 markets right now testing the technology, yes i said RIGHT NOW - as in currently, as in already existing. By early 2006 there should be 30 markets where the devices will be available.

heres the thing outages happen all the time its no big deal....verizon had a outage in florida for almost 2 days......i hate both companies equally because of my personal reasons but the thing is that gsm IS the world standard not cdma and its only a state mentallity that verizon(before the merger happened)is the best. my friend in finland has never even heard of ver before coming to the states...the point i'm making is that evry company has good and bad points but cingy(god i hate admitting this) is #1...and evry one is going to have to accept it.....doco can't even put out hsdpa and there FIRST in evrything wireless tech wise.....so before u go on a ver is the best crap.....look at the facts cingy is #1 in people and soon to be in data.......
