And the moral to the story...

Ok, my new location is located on the same street at the Lubbock call center, albeit the opposite side of town. I get at least 3 calls a day for the call center. Most customers are usually out of my area so I can't pull up their account on POS and attempt to answer their question. Whether it is a lazy 411 operator who didn't realize there is now a second listing for Cingular on University or whatever, people somehow reach me (I am so new I am not yet in the phone book).

So just now I get this call, a very old woman wants to know if we are open on Sundays, to which I reply no. She then wants to know why is it the Abilene store/call center (I am not sure) has to be open on Sundays. She wants to know if she can speak to the President of...

Probably something pesky like wanting to eat and have a roof over his head, silly stuff like that... 😛

Well, preacher's are paid by the church they preach at. Granted some churchs can't afford to pay enough, so if they do have to get a second job...there are 6 other days in the week, ya know

Yeah . . . and I'm while I'm reading your posts I'm sitting at my desk looking out the window at the cloud floating by, enjoying a latte and a chocolate bar, while using my unrestricted internet access . . . being an agent is great!

What's funny is he doesn't understand that indirect dealers ARE agents.

I will counter his incorrect facts so others who actually want to learn/understand their industry can be helped. I won't answer his spiteful viscous personal remarks. Not worth my time.

That's what I meant by 'agent.' I'm an indirect dealer too. My store is semi-exclusive for t-mobile, but we do a little bit of Cingular as well. Probably 90% t-mobile, 10% Cingular. I've worked as a CSR before, and I enjoy being an indirect dealer much better. It's very laid-back. I get all of my paperwork up to date, receive inventory if there is any, and then I just wait for customers to come in . . .

The company that I work for is very good about how they treat us. I have a dealer line paid for by the company, and they even buy us lunch every day and expense it out. I could make a little more working for a corp. store, but currently I manage to save around $1K/mo. so the money isn't an issue for me right now.

I don't care if...

And you, mister, need to stop teasing the animals! *looking around at the bland, beige, windowless walls interrupted only by occasional obnoxious Motorola propaganda posters, observing the "no eating at your desk" signs everywhere and sighing wistfully*

Ahhhh, blue sky!

Although I do have to suffer through the random siren. The EMS dispatch for this side of town is right down the street.

And when the entire shopping center is open I will have the smell of fresh baking bread to one side (Quiznos) and Pizza in the afternoon (Little Ceasers) with a pool hall just next to that for the afterwork beer and a quick rack.

I mentioned that too, saying "You know HE chooses to work there..." but I guess it was either a former AT&T store/center that used to always be closed on Sundays (according to her).

Either way, it was very funny.

at my call center everyone HAS to work sundays since the center is closed on saturdays and you're not allowed to have both weekend days off. you can only have one day off during monday through friday and then everyone has saturday off.

i think we're the only call center open on sundays. other than that after hours center. AND we're open to midnight.

xoxo
