Favorite Bluetooth Headset

texaswireless

So I want to expand my options on Bluetooth Headsets I carry and wanted some employee and customer opinions.

Which Bluetooth headsets do you use or like and why. What was the price paid (if you bought it). Has anyone ever used one tjhey didn't like, and why?

I personally use a Motorola HS-810. I currently carry the Motorola HS-850 and the Jabra FreeSpeak 250V.

Thanks for your answers.

I also use the HS-810. We sell it for $80, but was given to me by our company along with my phone. I like it just fine. I had the opportunity to try the Nokia HS-11W which is my favorite so far - we're out of stock not, but were selling them for $80 also. I've also tested a Bodyglove earpiece (piece of junk - but cheap, $40) - and another which if I remember correctly was an Earthlink-Mini. It was also fairly nice and we sold it for $80. I briefly played with a Sony Ericsson HBH-65, but had some problems with it. I think it may have been the phone though . . .

Overall, the Nokia was my favorite (but I'm biased towards Nokia anyhow), and my HS-810 works very nicely as well. Hope this helps . . .

Thanks.

Do you guys plan to carry the new HS-850? From what I have seen the HS-810 is discontinued.

Not yet . . . I'm in kind of a conservative market. We're actually one of the most 'progressive' stores in our area. We're the only store in our market that stocks unlocked handsets. Bluetooth still isn't that widely used here (but catching on VERY quickly).

I'm thinking that we will start carrying it soon though. I wish we would get more Nokia headsets though - I've had the best luck with all of their products.

I am in atlanta, The DV Shop. You shouldn't be afraid of ebay it is the eighth wonder of the world. you can buy the bt 800 from several good sellers. just read their reviews if they have a good rating and a return policy, then you are set. If you are still to scared then go to www.Bizrate.com their cheapest ones are $109.99 and it gives you several stores to buy from.

How much of a hassle was it to look at the caller id each time the phone rang?

I use a Sony Ericsson HBH-660. Being a long time satisfied customer of Sony Ericsson I naturally went with them.

I really like that it has a caller ID display, this way I dont have to pull the phone out of my pocket to check who's calling (incase I dont want to take the call lol).

I also like the design of it, it doesnt look tacky, looks really professional IMO.

The only thing I dont like about it in reality is that after a while it can get uncomfortable on the ear unless you re-adjust it. Which I guess the core problem would be having to re-adjust it every so often. Maybe I just have a weird shaped ear though! lol.

My HBH-600 was uncomfortable to wear for an extended amout of time because it has that piece that goes into your ear. The Moto headsets sit outside of your ear making it more comfortable. HPD did you ever have problems with your s710 dropping the bluetooth connection with your headset?

So far, I havent had any problem with disconnections.

There's another thing I should mention though. The way the phone is connected to the headset is totally different with the S710a than it was with my Sony Ericsson T637.

With the S710a, it has to be always connected, if its not and a call comes in it will not connect to the headset. Or if you make a call, it has to be connected already in order to use the headset.

With the T637, it would connect to the headset upon a call coming in or outgoing.

I think its weird but im getting used to it.

Yeah mine was the exact same way and it drove me crazy. 😳 With the Moto HS850 you just flip it open and it automatically connectes and picks up the call. I had to get rid of the s710 unfortunately. It was an awesome phone though. The feel of it and the camera were excellent. The little things are what bother me the most.

I used the HS810 with my v710 when I had Verizon but I ebayed (new verb) it off with the phone when my contract was up. When I had the s710a I used the hbh-600 but that was kind of quirky but I think it was the phone. I just got the black HS850 to match the black Razr which should be arriving any minute now. I use the 850 with the Moto a780 for the time being and its great. I want to try out the Jabra BT800 but it looks kind of tacky but I have heard some awesome reviews on it.

The s710a was phone that I was referring to in my post about having problems with an SE headset, but thinking that it was the phone. I tested out the unlocked version on T-Mobile, and it was very buggy. I thought it was because it was unlocked and unbranded, but now I'm thinking maybe not . . .

My s710 was very slow and buggy. I would sometimes scroll to a name to call and it would freeze for at least 20-30 seconds before attempting to make a call. If it wasnt for that and the buggy bluetooth it would have been one of the best phones ever. Im excited to try out the black Razr though 😁

That's the exact same problem I had! I was excited to see if the browser speeds would be faster. T-Mobile is currently upgrading to EDGE in my area. To my surprise, it was one of the slowest browsers that I've ever seen on a phone. I've used the Samsung D500 and it took like maybe a tenth of a second to connect to tzones. The s710a took around 10-15 seconds. Then, I had trouble getting it to read things off the memory card (and the fact that it didn't support the memory stick duo PRO was a big let-down), and then the bluetooth was really buggy (kept cutting in and out).

Anyone know of a decent quality headset for $50 retail? Nothing I have seen so far can offer anything at that price point.

The Moto HS801 is about the only BT headset I've seen in that price range. From what I hear it's really not that hot either. I've not tried it. I do the accessory ordering here and frankly I don't trust the 801 with it being so cheap.

We've been selling the HS810 until recently to very good reviews (we've only had 1 come back and it was just because he found that he didn't use it enough to justify the then $99 price tag). With our last shipment our supplier has started shipping the HS850 and I haven't had a chance to try it out yet. I think it LOOKS a lot better, but as for the service, we've only sold one (shipment of 2) and haven't seen that person to find out how it is.

The HS-805 is the replacement for the HS-801 (I think). It uses the AAA battery.

You're probably right...like I said, I don't really trust "economical BT" right now. Besides, the only thing that I trust that runs on a AAA battery is my MP3 player, which gets about 19 hours on one AAA. BT headsets that run on a AAA typically involve some sort of "power saving feature" that turns the headset off and makes it difficult to reconnect when a call comes in. That leads to returns...and it's damned near impossible to re-sell a returned BT headset.

Nasty ear wax all over the unit heheh.

I hate having to resell headsets. I just throw them away (tough to do with BT though, too expensive). I don't want the next guy to look at it like ugggg!

We DOA returned bluetooth headsets. It's kind of a pain, and you have to cover the cost of shipping, but since Moto is so unorganized they actually sent us two HS 810s to replace two HS 801s. Good things can happen.
