Preparing to migrate from Cingular Blue to Orange

Pink Jazz

May 26, 2005, 6:44 PM
Cingular is trying to make my family will have move to an Orange plan within a year. They currently use a Nokia 3200 and Motorola T720 purchased through AT&T Wireless. With the new plan, Cingular wants them to upgrade their phones.

While I will be using my unlocked Nokia 3620, I'm thinking which phones will they have to upgrade to.

Here are my thoughts:

Nokia 3200 -----> Nokia 3220
Motorola T720 -----> Motorola V551

Do any of you have suggestions?

no offense but I can only go by what I was told by Cingular as far as the fee is concerned...maybe my serious bitching lead to them waiving the fee...or maybe its you just trying to scare this person into thinking that the fee can't be waived, but as of this afternoon I was told by my regional reps the fee would be waived...I find that Cingular wants to charge you fees but if you challenge it strongly they do waive them...I'd say an hour or two on the phone is worth the $18+ you'll save...

If you make 9.00 an hour, then 2 hours is worth 18.00. Most people have better things to do with their lives then waste 2 hours complaining over a legitimate fee, that is charged to everybody.

no kidding....in those 2 hours would've paid for the 18.00 fee!!!!! I dont know if your aware of this, but everytime an upgrade was done through att, you were charged 15.00 for activation + 9.95 for shipping.

actually i make 9.75/hour. And don't forget i'm getting paid to listen to you whine like a child over the $18 fee. It makes no difference to me if your on the phone with me for 3min or 3 hours. i get paid the same, and your still NOT GETTING THE FEE WAIVED!!!!!!

You've been lied to. I will repeat:

THERE IS ABSOLUTELY NO WAY THAT FEE CAN BE WAIVED. NONE. NO WAIVING FEE. YOU WANT TO MIG YOU PAY THE FEE. NOT EVEN GOD NOR PRESIDENT BUSH CAN WAIVE IT.

Did i make myself clear?

first question is what do you want your knew phones to do?

The Nokia 3220 is a more youth orienated phone, features flashy lights games and a camera. Great for a teen or someone who likes play with there phone. The net thing about that is it is a nokia so if the person is playing with they are hard to fubar. (Only saw a nokia get fubared once)

The motto v551 has blue tooth and edge, along with a camera and a small digital vidoe recorder. Those are the majour between it and the motto v220, (that and about 70$ in price)

If those are the phones that you fell will suit your needs by all means go for it. if not perhaps some more shopping around is needed.
