1 or 2 Year Contract Option?

muchdrama

I was recently on Cingular's website, messing about with the "new line of service" process, and I noticed there's no immediate option to change from a 2 year contract to a 1 year contract. Unless, of course, I'm mad and completely missing it. When you first pick your phone, it's at the 2 year contract price. But upon selecting the handset, there's no option to override that 2 year option with a 1 year option. I thought this to be strange. Anybody got a comment?

There is no 1 year option when ordering from Cingular.com.

If you want a 1 year contract, go to a store, call telesales, or order from a 3rd party online vendor.

Not really. Cingular direct is not interested in offering 1 year agreements. There are sources for that customer to purchase, but Cingular.com is not one of them.

Online customers, in their opinion, are there looking for maximum value and price is the driving factor. When then would they offer equipment at a hirer price?

The guy above is right, there are other sources for you to buy if a one year agreement is what you seek.

WRONG

It is about $$$$

Cing figures if a cutomer buys online they can't or do not want to deal with the misinformed and commission-hungry reps.

So - if you come online and they offer you only a two year contract - you have no option but to take it or pursue a route you had allready chosen to avoid.

MAXIMUM VALUE? MAXIMUM VALUE? YOU ARE A CORP TOOL TXWIRELESS! ADDING THE OPTION FOR A ONE YEAR CONTRACT WOULD HAVE NEGLIBLE EFFECTS ON MAXIMUM VALUE?

IF THE COMPANY THOUGHT THEY COULD MAKE MORE MONEY BY OFFERING THEM WOULD IN A HEARTBEAT! INSTEAD THEY REALIZE THE MAKE MORE BY NOT OFFERING THEM!

DRINK UP ON THAT K00L-AID - YOU OBVIOUSLY LOVE IT!

DO YOU THINK PEOPLE ARE STUPID ENOUGH TO BELIVE THAT DRIBBLE?

Two year contracts are wireless companies wet dreams nowadays.

Don't lock yourself in that long in these times.
