ATTWs will NOT give out that number. If you want to see if nokia will give it to you the number is 1-888-665-4228 or try internet sites.

The reps dont even have the number or a way to attain it so they arent being mean.

Unfortunately that is not the case.

This thread is the one you should read

They say the criteria for unlocking the phone through Cing there.

IT JUST BOILS DOWN TO THE COMPANY TRYING TO MAKE YOU BUY MORE EQUIPMENT AND KEEP YOU FROM CHANGING!

APPARENTLY THE RIGHTS OF PEOPLE MEAN NOTHING TO CINGULAR!

Umm...that is actually not a Cingular policy. It was an ATTWs policy. Cingular unlocks their phones and still ATTWs phones are not unlockable. We don't have those codes, never did.

LET ME CORRECT MYSELF THEN 😛

APPARENTLY THE RIGHTS OF PEOPLE MEAN NOTHING TO ATTWS AND CINGULAR!

IF CINGULAR UNLOCKS THEIR PHONES - WHY DO SO MANY COMPLAIN THEY CAN'T GET THEIR PHONES UNLOCKED BY CINGULAR?

IF CINGULAR WILLINGLY UNLOCKS PHONES - WHY ARE THEY BEING SUED ABOUT IT?

IT LEGALIZED MOB STYLE TATICS!

Cingular does unlock phones, but there are certain eligibility requirements you must pass.

ATT on the other hand does NOT give out unlock codes EVER. I know this because I'm an ATT rep, and this is the question we answer most. We've even brought it to corporate offices and they do not under any circumstances provide lock codes. Not even if you bought your phone full price.
Nokia wouldn't help you either.. they'll tell you to contact us.
Going through google is the best way.
I've been told by other customers that there are indirect wireless stores that WILL unlock it, but they charge up to 35$ to get it done.

So yeah, I don't think it's right, but there's not even a way for us to look it up, or a department we can call. Sorry!

PS!

I MISPOKE

YOU CAN UNLOCK THE PHONE YOURSELF BUT YOU WILL NEED TO BE SURE THAT YOU HAVE WHAT IS NEEDED.

MOST OFTEN IT'S A CODE (CODE PROGRAMS ARE AVAILABLE ON THE NET) THAT YOU PUNCH IN! SOME PHONES REQUIRE A BIT MORE! RESEARCH YOUR PHONE!

REMEMBER THOUGH, IT'S YOUR PHONE AND YOU PAID FOR IT BUT NOW CINGULAR SAYS THAT DOESN'T MEAN JACK! YOUR PROPERTY IS NOT PROPERTY ACCORDING TO CING!

Good luck and sorry you have to deal with an outside company to regain access to property you have allready paid for.

Regardless of who you are and work for - you have to see the infringement here!

Let us know how that company works out - it is a shame you have to turn to a canadian company for help!

GO GO CORPORATE AMERICA KOOL-AID
