e317 discontinued? why?
does anyone know? did it have too many defects or something? one person told me it was too expensive and not selling as well as the x427 which everyone and their grandma has...just curious.

good riddence to bad rubbish that phone is just horrible. it has great features its just horrible in reception. our samsung rep recognizes the problem and instead of debugging it theyre just gonna take it out

it's pretty representative of samsung GSM products... The X426 and e316 were both crap and i'm guessing the e317 is the same (not too sure of the X427, but it was a cheap phone to begin with)

I'll agree with that statement. The x427 is basically the GSM equivalent of the Samsung a650 for Verizon. A phone which sits in its box waiting to be sold on eBay.

hey razzy...they say that there is a component issue...i have one for about 3 months now and i have never had a problem with it..looks like there is another version of it coming out but i dont know when.

oh really? if this little phone had bluetooth and a speaker phone i do believe it would be nearly perfect. this is my first samsung camera phone as well, the little effects you can do are so cool!
right now i am using the e317 and v600, and i ordered a 3120 to upgrade fom my 6820, the 3120 will be here next week i can not wait because it is a cute little phone.

that doesnt make any sense...what kind of bugs? i have not had any problems with it at all. its just like the old x427 i use to have, they still carry that phone dont they? what could be so much worse about the e317 compared to the x427?

i have not had anyone bring one back but apparently something on some of the phones isnt working right...not saying that you have one of those phones. but all in all its a really good phone.

it was not a component problem, it was a LACK of required components. Samsung had problems witha supplier getting them some of the parts needed to build the phone, so instead of putting it on back order, we EOL'd it. It MAY be replaced by the P207 in stores, but not sure.

The word we got from corporate was partially the fact that the 317 and 427 are garbage compared to other phones availible and what Samsung has coming down the pipes. The p207 should soon be in stores as well as the c207. Honestly I have had dozens come back as Buyer's Remorse due to not being set for quad band in addition to lack of bluetooth and just overall cluttered feel from the features.

motos have nice features...but it lacks the BASIC features i think...they dont get as good signals as other phones, they have horrible battery life, the way the charger connects is crap and the way the phonebook is set up sucks

I have the e317 and have sent it back once already. Same crappy signal and same crappy voice quality. Why wont they just send me a different manufacturer of comparable value? Why am I stuck with a phone that they know is crap?

the phone was garbage. People break out. When talking to people you can barely hear them at high volume, especially to land line phones. Any ideas if they are coming out with a new one that I can buy if its better?
