Rate Plans...Good or Bad?
Personally, Im not sure if this is good or bad for cingular. Their old rate plans were pretty competitive with verizon except if you needed less than 1,100 minutes.
Now, all base costs appear to be exactly the same as verizon, except the added line is MORE!! Why would they do that? I am currently a verizon customer (unfortunately) and I was going to leave until this.
Even if you only need two lines, there is no advantage of going with Cingular, pricewise at least. and verizon has in messaging too.
I think this was a lateral move for cingular. Why wouldn't they at least match the extra line fee?
I think this is a mistake and they will figure it out soon. Anyone else think otherwise? personally, i would have done som...

come over and u also give up ur NEW2 no charge for upgrading ( cingular charges $18 ) but to try and stay neutral ask ur friends who they have. if they all have verizon stay with them then for the M2M talking and in -text. if most of them have cingular and we work in ur area switch to us then you'll have rollover and M2M. do a little homework and make an educated decission you'll be happy u did in the long run

I sell Cingular, Alltel, and Sprint. The rate change will make changing over the old AT&T customers a bit harder. And it also makes Alltel's plans look great. I know all companies have both good and bad pionts. Just looks like Alltel is getting better.

Alltel doesn't have rollover minutes. That could be the reaon Cingular could possible get away with charging more for the 3rd lines.

Rollover minutes are a gimmick.
If you do not use all your minutes every month where rollover actually makes sense - chances are you could use a new plan and save money in the process.

They seem to be working just great for me. When I first got the 850 plan, we weren't using that many minutes, so we had about 600 saved up. The past few months though, we've been busy and have been going over, but, thanks to the RO minutes, we haven't had any extra charges. Beats having to pay by the minute whenever we go over or pay a proration when changing the plans in the middle of the month. Since the plans aren't that much more expensive (the one I have) than others, I don't mind paying the extra (I think ours was cheaper at the time) for the service.

PLEASE SEE NEW RATE PLANS WTF

the rate plans are ment to be "simpler" and easier to understand. I'm not sure if that is statement about our sales staff, or maybe Americans in general. 😈
