I heard Cingular scrapped the idea because the A630 was a piece of **** like every other Motorola! lol. But you can always buy it unlocked.

Can you buy it from Motorola unlocked or would you have to buy it from somewhere like Ebay or Amazon.com unlocked?

Motorola doesnt sell its own phones, you'd have to go through some 3rd party retailer like eBay or Amazon. There's also alot of other places to buy phone, just look at the advertisement on this website.

Cingular did release the a630 in some areas. I know here in some places in VA the a630 was offered to SunCom customers with the HipTop II when SunCom switched to Cingular. Do a search on ebay with "a630 Cinuglar" and there is usually at least one on there that is Cingular branded.

Yes there are some around there are some even in cingular's warehouse. But there will be no launch the phone did not pass final testing on the 850mhz band. Virginia is not on the 850mhz band they are on 1900mhz so it will work fine there.

Wait so VA isnt on the 850 band? How do you know this? Do you know this for a fact? If this is the case this opens up a whole new world in selection of phones...
