what happens when you suspend an account?

do you still pay the monthly bill? how does it work when you call and have them suspend incoming/outgoing calls?

What happens and what you pay depends on why the line is being suspended.

Usually they are suspended for lost stolen reasons, then we add a feature that deactivates the SIM card. The phone is inactive while the feature is in place. You still pay all mrcs and will have no access to voice mail.

what are mrcs? what are other reasons why people may suspend accounts?

Monthly Recurring Charges ie. your montly voide/data plan charges. People may suspend their accounts for any reasons such as hardships or anything of the such.

so if you suspend it do to a hardship, you still must pay the mrcs? lol doesnt that defeat the purpose? you may as well just keep it on right?

Hmm not sure. I dont work for Cingular, I was just making assumptions and we all know what happens when you ass u me. If your going thru some hardships just tell them you lost it or something until you can pay.

You might want to go down to the lowest plan with no data options. It's $39.99 a month now. You might compare that to the termination fee.

nah i got the 29.99 right before they changed the plans cuz i knew they wouldnt have one as cheap once june 1st came lmao

Suspensions occur for the following reasons:

Non-Payment - Customer has exceeded the threshold for non-payment

Customer Request - Customer has requested that phone be temporarily suspended, which allows customers to reserve their cellular numbers.

Lost/Stolen Phones - Customer's phone has been lost or stolen.

Voluntary - Customer requests temporary suspension, e.g., vacation.

Return Check/Payment - Customer has a dishonored payment.

Returned Mail - Customer's invoice has been returned and the customer cannot be reached for updated information

Activation - Suspension of phone prior to shipment for sales purposes

Military - Customer is deployed to military; monthly charges are not incurred for this type of suspens...
