If they are using call forwarding and then unforwad all calls the pilot number will disappear and need to be re-entered

They exclude things like that so customers have a reason to call us, which means we get to keep our jobs. 😛

Could you explain this to me. Something really weird happened to me when I forwarded my calls to my other cell phone. After I undid the forward, people could'nt leave me a voicemail, because instead of my greeting they would hear: "Please enter you voicemail number (or something like that)" This happened about two months ago.
On a side note, this morning I checked a voicemail I had, and notice that I had lost all my voice messages I had stored for months. Did cingular do something to voicemail?

Nope... you did it, when you cancel ALL call forwarding you cancel your busy call forwarding and your no answer call forwarding.

Meaning the calls arent gonna be forwarded to your mailbox anymore.

That's interesting--on TMo cancelling all call forwarding just puts it back to default VM forwarding...

No sh!t there, Sherlock, you absolutely certain about that? Shoot, and here I thought the big old "Cingular" thingy at the top of the page was just a weird way of spelling "TMobile." 🙄

In case it escapes your notice, I know perfectly well which carrier forum I'm in, I just find it interesting to see how the companies differ, especially considering how alike they are in most respects.

But thanks for playing... 😛

It is interesting since Cingular and TMo have very similar network setups and it makes a lot more sense from a customer experience perspective as well as for lessening impact on care reps taking the calls to have the network default out to regular voice mail forwarding, since cancelling all call forwarding in the phone is an easy mistake to make. If you don't find it interesting to compare how the various networks function, you are more than welcome to go read something else. I'm sure the "My Dog Spot" books are checked in at the library most of the time.

But you were half right, you did respond with a stupid remark. 🙄
