actually thinking about switching...
ive been with verizion for almost 3 years now and aboslutely love it but the thought of GSM has always appealed to me. also the 9100 very much appeals to me. i love that phone! also the idea of having a SIM card seems to have its pluses. i am definatly one to be impatient with phones and i like to switch phones a lot so that would be very convienient. although if i switch a lot of people would be shocked because everyone knows me as "mr verizon" (being that i work for an agent and check phone scoop constantly)
i know verizon has the best coverage and teh best service but its just some of the phones that cingy offers completely kick @$$!! right now i have the 7000 and im waiting for the 8100. also i have a long time till my contract is up ...

I know I much prefer Cingular as an entire package...if you were to score coverage, service, and variety, Cingular comes out way in front over any other carrier...with me anyway 🙂

unfortunately Verizon does not have service in my area and I am not going back to Alltel, thats why I use Cingular, Im dont think that I would ever leave Cingular for Verizon but it would be nice to know that if I ever have problems I can go to another great nationwide carrier, small selection of BT phones though thats the only bad thing.

Do you travel a lot? I was attacked by some Verizon saleswomen. Very knowledgable, I'll give them that much. And I was quite interested in them. One thing they really were excited about was the fact that they have the most covereage over the U.S. After a while at home though, I got to thinking, and I realized I really don't travel outside of about 100 mile radius from my home. The only one I may switch to is Sprint because I'd get a 23% reduction on my bill each month and it may come out a bit cheaper compared to the new plans. I have another year before my contract is up and I don't even kn...

you do have a good point on the coverage part. i never really thought about it that way. for me, the biggest reason to stay on verizon is most of my friends are on verizon and my mom and sister are too so if i told them i was leaving verizon just for the phones i dont think they would appriciate it that much since they would then have to use their minutes to talk to me. and for how much i talk to my mom, i would be using a lot of minutes.
but still the fact that i would be on the GSM network and its so much more universal now and there are more options for it, it just makes it tempting. but still i think sticking with verizon would be the best choice. it just sucks because i really like cingulars phone selection better.

What's so great about the GSM network? Actually, I'd like you and some Cingular peeps to answer. 5 years ago, when I was on whatever SBC had to offer, I could still do the same thing that I do today, and what I mainly use my phone for, to call and receive calls from other people. I think staying with Verizon because everyone else has it may be a good idea. In my family, everyone has something different and we hardly talk to anyone in the extended family, so it's not really a factor, for me at least.
