Offer of "free" pre-paid phone

PhoneTwit

Somehow Cingular has sent an offer out for a free prepaid phone. Three customers (1 angry, 2 not angry) have read it verbatum.

Has anyone had anybody in an official capacity acknowledged this screw up in any way?
😛

those 'priority codes' for the go phone offers all say 'choice of any NON free phone' I get that from customers all day who leave out the key part of the phrase.

I do, too, but these are different. They really did mess up. Three different people (different zip codes, BTW) read the whole thing to me. With an offer like this blah blah blah you shouldn't have to pay for the phone blah blah blah.

tell them to fax the copy to you so you can see it for yourself, then if it says what they say it says, I would think it is time for cingular to honor the ad. Unless at the bottom of the ad it states that cingular is not responsible for misprints, ect...

🙄 As crappy as GoPhone is they should give away free phones. All prepaid is a ripoff.

Oh they get the money back all right. Every thirty days when these customers have all this money on the account abd the expiration date rolls through. I had to tell this 73 year old lady why her $86.55 balance was lost forever, and just because she forgot to "refill" her account. I see countless stories like this. I did give her a courtesy credit as she did not understand the expiration date thing I gave her half of the balance she lost. But I wouldn't reccomend prepaid service to my worst enemy.

😕 These ORANGE GoPhone calls are a pain in the a$$. I've yet to see one that works the way it's supposed to. I used to have the AT&T GoPhone which was beautiful. The NOKIA 3595 was a beautiful indestructible phone too. But these LG1300's arguably the worst POS out there combined with a system that won't recognize new activations, charges for N&W minutes on the higher plans, internet rarely works, etc. Is a nightmare.

Im so glad I dont handle prepaid calls on the orange side. We get them on weekends and I can't even tell you how to view if a customer has a balance left on the dam thing.

As for the Nokia 3595...I love that phone. Mine has been through hell and back and its still working!! Plus my nieces love to steal my phone and they are young, so you know they are destructive lol.

😢 I miss that phone. And we are always sold out of the 6230 which I would trade one of my V551's in for in a second.

If Nokia phones ever started thinking for themselves, they'd take over the world.

EVERY one of my prepaid customers understand the expiration date and when to refill to keep their balance. I've had a few lose it, but they know it was their fault and most refill about five days before expiration to avoid any trouble.
