New Migration Policy
I thought the whole point of migrating customers is to get everyone on Cingular's billing and enhanced network. What is going on here?? What happened to the fact that they can switch at any time?

It is easier to take things away from a plan instead of adding things on.
They are not pushing the features like value meals anymore because they realized its not making them enough money so now they went to higher price plans. People still end up cancelling most the features sales reps combine on them.
Texaswireless you have your nose so far up Cingular it is ridiculous. People like you that support every change this company does make me sick. I work for an agency and I am tired of being stepped on by Cingular like we are the red headed step child when our agency does close to a third of Cingular's business in our market.

What I do know is that if I want to feed my kids I need to have a positive outlook on the company I represent. I chose to open a Cingular agent location because they had the best offerings for my region.
I have said many, many times Cingular is not always the best choice nor is everything they do the best business decision. I happen to think that in this instance the package offerings were a good idea. Most customers who are properly eductaed on their features DO NOT cancel, hence why you need to educate as well as sell.
Don't whine at me because I choose to be positive.
I guess that's the difference between being a CSR and working in sales, and also between being paid hourly versus working for commission and/or having a vested interest in a company.
Cancel my origonal post. The migration change that I spoke of if for select markets and thankful it is not Dallas. Someone else had posted which markets were effected.

Oh, I forgot to mention that TDMA customers are exempt from this policy. Which makes sense, as I am sure there aren't too many TDMA customers in contract.
Oh by the way..it only goes into effect in certain states/markets: Boston, Connecticut, Upstate New York, NYC-New Jersey, Philly-PHY/HLY/NBR, the Washington/Baltimore area, Alaska, Arizona, California, Colorado, Hawaii, Idaho, Montana, Nevada, New Mexico, Oregon, Utah, Washington, and Wyoming.
Oh and if you happen to lose or break a phone you can migrate but you're going to agree to a new 1 year service agreement with cingular and pay the no commitment pricing via JATFYB

I just got word on Friday that the Cingular migration policy has changed. Now AT&T customers have the same criteria as upgrade customers. If they signed a one year on AT&T they can migrate their 11 month on their contract, and if they did a two, they have to wait until their 21st month.

So, if I upgraded to ATTWS GSM service on 6/17/2004 (on a 2 year contract,) you are saying I cannot MIGRATE to Cingular until March 17, 2006 ?????
That's OK.....I'll just keep my Early Evenings, Unlimited N
