Mobile Soultions is hella shadey!!! In fact, most small agents are. I work for an agent, (parrot) and we pride ourselves on following cingular policy and modeling our stores after them. A lot of agents do really shadey things, like mis informing customers and changing phone prices to make the sale. All this translates to poor customer service which gives cingular a poor image. When the customer gets mad, they don't see the agent as an independant company, they look as cingular as a whole.

In fact, it's a lot of agents that give cingular a bad image. It's really hard to put everyone on the same page when they're soo many of them. Since the merger, there are over 50 cingular agents in the sacramento area alone.

This is funny, I has this same conversation with my owner this morning. Here is why MS really got the boot.

Besides incorrect contract lengths, and un wanted features, the biggest issue is fraud.

For instance. Say I run your credit. You come back a $500 depoait. You say no thanks and I say wait. What they do is activate you on another account that came back with no deposit. They change the billing address to the deposit customers address and block the CID. On top of that they charge the deposit customer a smaller cash deposit of say $200. The MS rep would keep the cash deposit and get paid on the activation.

Say the deposit customer decides to stop paying the bill 6 or 7 months later, what does he care? It is under someone elses nam...

That's interesting. I can see how certain people would think up things like this (I had a boss once who could come up with ideas like that at the drop of a hat).

The thing that I really wonder about is how do they find people to work for them? Is one of their interview questions, "are you willing to lie, cheat, and possibly commit fraud?" I guess it's the same sort of stuff that went on at Enron, etc. One rotten apple will spoil the barrel.

I love the generalizations.

Most big agents started out small. Go Wireless, Parrot, etc. all started somewhere. Once you became big did you suddenly STOP being shady?

Try to avoid rash generalizations smart guy.

they were originally an AT&T wireles delaer in the Chicago area. Once the merger happened we kept them till their contract was up and then decided we do not need mobile solutions. I will say no more take it how you will but Cingular just did not renew the contract with them.

True, we were an ATT dealer, and personally, I liked it much better that way. Better commisions (Cingular ****S us on add-lines... It only pays $5), better customer support, and their bills were way better. Cingular customers regularly, even from direct stores, are stopping by to bitch about their first bill (pro-rate+next month+act fees). NONE of our T-Mobile customers ever have a complaint about our services, only the Cingular customers. All of our old ATT customers love us, and try to come back to upgrade and add lines. Since we can't do that anymore, we just take them to T-Mobile, especially with these new BS family plans.

Now on fraud... Why would we activate on a "no deposit" customer. It is impossible for any agent to get pa...

$5 on additional lines sounds like your agency was boning you. We get paid a lot more than that, but that could be because you aren't an exclusive agent. Also, deposit records are up to your company to keep straight. I've had that happen to me a few times, but good paperwork keeps that from happening. It is also possible to activate someone without a picture ID and credit card. They request a picture ID, but you get paid even if you don't send one in, and credit card info is never needed. I have my beefs with Cingy, but none were what you mentioned.

Good luck with your future endeavors.

hey waldo...i dont know what your manager is telling you but indeed cingular dropped you guys.

i have had to deal with mobile solutions problems for a long time now with you guys putting customers on wrong rate plans, making fake family talk plans but putting the customers on different plans so you guys can get a better commission. telling customers that they get unlimited text messaging for the first month even with pay per use. also telling customers that they have "unlimited minuted for the first month" and if the cust got a big bill to call up cingulars customer service and they would take care of it. oh i heard it all waldo and every single time these customers came down from the mobile solutions stores to us because they had a ...

Working purely off of percentages here...

If we do 500 Cingular acts out of a store, which several in my market do, it would seem natural that we have more complaints..

I noticed kiosking didn't say a thing about your ****ty billing system...

Many of your stores do 500 new activations per month, or combined upgrades and activations? I'm based in Dallas, and that number is pretty far fetched for any of our stores. Our busiest only did 260 activations and 250 upgrades.

Jun 10, 2005, 10:20 AM
ok but what about your deact rate sure you may have 500 acts but you also have 80% deacts. due to misinformation, or blatent lying to the customer.

our billing system has nothing to do with the fact that you guys are trying to screw over the customer to get a better commission. the system works when you do it right.

there have been several complaints to the mall that i work in, from numerious customers walking around the mall complaining about the harrassment that they recieve reguarding the mobile solutions kiosks and how they heckle the people that walk by them like circus carneys. basically bringing a disgrace to the wireless industry.

way to go mobile solutions ...just had another customer come in with a problem from you guys....seems that this customer only wanted 2 lines on a family talk and you guys set her up on 4 lines each at a $49.99 rate plan each charging the cust a $36 act fee per line. way to go...guess you guys just figured that you dont have to worry about it since you wont be carring cingular anymore. way to screw over the customer again. and you guys say that its cingulars billing system. its only a matter of time that t mobile gets smart and drops you guys.
