The ones that I find most ridiculous are the ones where the person pretends that they've answered the phone. Don't know how many custs I've called with that VM greeting. 🙄

hah, i like the ones where the cust makes sure to use the largest words possible:
"Salutations, you have been forwarded to my mobile communications voice messaging system. I am dreadfully sorry that I could not answer the phone, but i will assuredly respond to your summons with all due expediency"

The worst one i have ever experienced was a lady that sang for almost three minutes. That was the most tramatic moment in my life as a csr. She sound like a cat getting skinned for 3 whole minutes I mean you would think her friends would tell her how horrible it was. I really wish they did.

Personally, I hate the loud blaring rap music that blasts for 20-30 seconds.
You can barely hear the music, it's just loud and annoying. I have heard one or two out of about 50 that actually sounded decent. Now, if it was decent sounding, and music I liked, maybe I wouldn't mind so much. But it's ALWAYS rap! Pisses me off!

A few years ago, I was trying to contact a guy I wanted to interview for a job where I worked. He wasnt home, and his answering machine message went something like this: (overlay appropriate porn music) "You've reached 1-800-HOTTALK, the HOTTEST sex line available." I forget the rest of the message, but it went on along those lines for at least 2 minutes before telling me to leave a message for Gary. Funniest thing I ever heard, I could barely get my message out cause I was laughing so hard. Oh, and he ended up getting the job too.
