Hey everyone, I'm going to let you know how you can prevent anyone from ever saying they didn't know the T&C. Well, this is mainly for those that work in the stores. Post them on the wall and by the racks where the phones are. Maybe one on your counter. They'll be there for the customers to read, and it's their choice not to, and it will be their problem if they didn't. Just like Wal-Mart has their signs that say you cannot bring back opened software and movies for a refund. The only problem is, it has to be where the customer can see it BEFORE purchasing the product. If it's hidden in a frame at the service counter, may not work. If it's on the shelf with the movies, the customer is out of luck. Let your boss know about this. Mayb...

I whole heartedly agree.....Then maybe the reps that have to explain them wouldnt be the a$$holes!!! DONT SHOOT THE MESSENGER PPL lol

That's just a little CYA stuff. It'd be good for anyone that has any problems. Even if Cingular comes down on you, you can say, look, I have the T&C in 4 places throughout the store. Even though I allegedly forgot to give them a copy, they're there for them to read. Not my fault they chose not to.

you should email that suggestion on the website pweez ;)

Nah! What would I get out of it? I doubt they'd even care. I think it's a rewardable idea, I'll be nice and let the workers get the rewards. Maybe I will. Not tonight though, it's getting late and it takes a while for me to find the link.

Actyually when you order a phone online they have them there in the check section. you have to click "I argee to the terms and conditions" before the order is placed. And then when you get the phone you have to activate throughthe activation hot line, and the recording reads the T&Cs to you. pretty much the only way to not have them thrown in your face is to go through a dealer. And I will admit this anywere except on the phone:
DEALERS ARE BASTARDS. (can't expect to many details to be told to the cust form someone who makes there bread and cheese off commision.) And i know there are some good dealers out there, but for the most part all I see are the money grabbing ones that b!tch me out of letting the cust know about buyers remors...

I've never done an internet order. I did order over the phone, and got a different set of T&C than the one the rep had when I called and asked. Also, what about that one guy that said his phone came activated? That can lead to another Stephen problem if Cingular's not careful.

Here is another way, make you own contract that say you will not be under any contract with Cingular and have the store manager sign it, and if they wont then dont take the service.
...
Yaa becuase we all know that that is going to happen. Maybe if you wish really hard and are a good boy santa and the cookie crumble fiery will bring a free cell phone without any contract and unlimited minutes with no roaming, anywere on the planet.

In south Mississippi and Louisiana they have signs in the stores that say 'Cingular Wireless is not responsible for charges incurred while roaming in the Gulf Of Mexico, regardless of rate plan.' People still call in and dispute them... So it may work, it may not.
...
Well, they can call all they want. The thing is, they would have to have purchased their phone at the store, to be able to read the signs. If they did, and Cingular can prove the signs were up (Have an effective date when they started going up and a mandate to have them in all LA and MS(???) stores) then the customer is out of luck. It's just a CYA thing. Let's say they are dead serious that the rep didn't tell them they would be roaming. You call the rep, and the rep says look, maybe I forgot to tell them, but the sign's up on the wall, they should've read it. Customer's out of luck, Rep breaths a sigh of relief, and thanks David under their breath 😁.
Why would someone have their phone with them out in the Gulf anyway? With my lu...

You would be amazed at how many people call in about it. People that work off shore or just go out boating. In Care, we can look at the agent code on the account and see where it was activated at...
