Customer calls in disputing overage charges on his bill. I advise him of his overages and that they are valid calls he starts telling me niether phone gets ANY reception wherever he goes.
We change the IMEI number on his account pow cyc his phone and VOILA he has a little better coverage (by the way he was one both of the phones during our convo)
Well that wasn't good enough, he says its not full bars etc etc. I ramble of verbatim statement "sir I do apologize but we cannot guarentee...blah blah blah"
He still continues to dispute, I finally tell him sir, with the amount of overage on your bill you have to have some type of decent coverage.

Hahah.... I had one of those customers 👿 ... He said "My phones do not work! I never get reception!" But he and his family had used over 3000 minutes on their plan 😳 . and these weren't just 1 or 2 minutes calls. some of them were in excess of 20mins! He said I refuse to pay this much for service, and I said well then your phones will be suspended if payment is not received by the due date. He started cussing at me and told me I was incompetent and a liar. I calmly stated, sir it is in my best intrest to keep you happy as a customer, and therefore I would never lie to make a sale. so he threw his phone down on the floor and walked out of the store, only to return 20min later to pick up his phone and call his wife lol 🤣 🤣

Beats me I never thought it should make a difference, I know it can effect how the data side works. just know i been changing some IMEI's lately and all of a sudden the person has better service after every other troubleshooting I can think of. ask a tech rep if it can actually make a difference.
