How morose is my day?
"No sir, Canada is not part of the United States."
I can't stop laughing.
About a week ago a customer called in, completely outraged about his invoice. He had over 100$ in long distance charges- and he said to me "I am on a NATION plan with no roaming and long distance" so i viewed his invoice and sure enough the calls were to ONTARIO.... I explained that the nation plan covers the United States and he had assumed that Canada was a part of that calling area. I advised that unfortunately it was not- and he thought that Canada was part of the continental US (like virgin islands etc) I just had to shake my head alot. He escalated when I wouldn't credit the charges.
No ma'am, I cannot help you with your T-Mobile account, this is Cingular Wireless.

I'm used to getting Cingular calls, but the other day I got one from Unicell? WTF is that? 😕 And how do you NOT notice that you're calling the wrong place? By the time you get to the rep the system has thanked you for calling X about five times--does it not occur to them that X is not Y? Dorks... 🙄

Man, I get that constantly! It drives me up the flipping wall, and I'm not even Canadian... 🙄 And then yesterday I get a guy with an open port out request on his line expecting me to credit him for his 500.00+ roaming and LD charges from his trip to the Bahamas--he tried to give me that "oh, but I thought it was included" crapola and I just replied "Sir, any place you have to go through customs and show a passport is DEFINITELY not covered by your rate plan!" Especially when he's bailing out for another carrier--pay it, schmuck! 👿
