He should try sending it as an MMS. Ive never really tried it like that, but I dont believe you can send attatchments to phones like that, not even pictures.

I mean Ive never tried sending it in email format, but I dont think its possible, not even with pictures or photos. Thats pretty much what MMS is for, he should try MMS and for sure it'll work. I hope that helps!

How does he send it as an MMS? You're talking to someone who doesn't beleive internet should be on a phone, ive never done any of this before.

Well, in his messaging options he should have the option of sending a text message or a MMS (Mulitmedia Message) When he goes to write the MMS he should have options whether to send text, sound, or an image. Thats about all I can say, unless he's using a Sony Ericsson, I could be alot more helpful there.

I used to do this with my old v400 and sending it as an mms wont work, well i will but you cant set it as a ringtone, what I did was edited an mp3 into a ringtone then I posted it on my web site and then accessed the file's url from my wap browser, its the only way you can get animated gifs on your phone as well. by the way what kind of phone is he using?

Probably won't work unless it is a windows mobile or palm device. Most basic handsets cannot open attachments.
