I posted this in the Canadian Forum but I didn't get a reply- this is non - cingular related, but I know alot of reps here are from canada-

I work for a US providor, but I live in Canada with ROGERS as my service provider. I started service almost 6 months ago and signed a 3 yr contract. The deals here are not even close to what we offer in the US, but I realize that is due to the fact there are way less cell subscribers in Canada than the US. My question is, How long until I can upgrade my phone with Rogers? I got a v220 and it is crap. I want a new phone, not free, but not $300 etc. Does anyone know how long I have to wait for an upgrade? Do I have to wait out my entire contract? Also, does anyone know what the early termination f...

Not true, If you're dead set on GSM, yeah, I'd say Rogers is the way to go. But here in the Great White North we've got Telus, Sasktel or Fido(yes, I realise Rogers ate Fido)

I love Bell.
But I'm totally prepaid.

25$ lasts me 60 days and it gets me 100tm/month, and about 50 mins for those 2 months. Luckily, that's more than enough since I rarely use it to make a call.

With a plan, or with rogers, I'd have to pay over 35$/month for the same that I have now.

if you have a rogers phone, you are typically able to upgrade after 1 yr if you have a 3 yr term idealy they may ask you to wait for 2 yr's of that term to be up but you can upgrade after 2 yr's

they also have a program where you can pay a penatly and upgrade early...
(or buy a phone at retail value)

I wouldnt recommend telus to my worst enemy....My ETF was 520 dollars!!!!!!! They are worse scam artists than any other company....Sorry for that

From what I understand you can upgrade every 2 yrs with Rogers, but that might've just been ppl that were on 2 yr contracts

I know that technically after 2 years you can get a new phone with Rogers but several of my friends have talked the reps into sending them discounted phones before the 2 years is up, you just have to be a bit pushy and mention possibly canceling.

http://www.howardforums.com/forumdisplay.php?s=284c0 ... » A rogers forum. Probably a better place to ask. There are dealers and rogers call centre people who frequent that board.
