Black RAZR question
I know many stores are starting to get the black edition of the Motorola v3 Razr (though it isn't on Cingular.com yet), and I have just one question about it.
For those of you that have seen one hands-on:
What is the casing like?
Is it black plastic?
Is it anodized aluminum (similar to the original v3)?
Is it painted or powder-coated aluminum?
Okay, that's actually more than one question. Think of it as multiple choice!

Feels powder coated (I think that is the same as anodized?).
Casing looks very sharp (black with chrome buttons and log with silver keypad.
I am very impressed, and I really wasn't impressed by the original RAZR.

No, powder-coating is different than anodization.
Anodization is a chemical alteration to color the metal, whereas powder-coating is just that- a coating of colored powder that is
"baked" on to a solid finish.

I noticed that you cant get the Black razor with a new activation but you can go into your OLAM and if your elgible to upgrade you can get the black razor there in OLAM. 😎

The motorola website states that both the silver and the black razrs are constructed of anodizded aluminum...Look under specifications for each the silver and black razrs and then click on technical specifications for each phone...Hope this helps you guys out.
I've had one in hand yesterday and it appears to be anodized to my eyes. If the phone is powder coated, it is an excellent job.....

Sorry, my message was not quite complete. When you get on the specifications page for the black razr, look at the small box in the upper right hand corner of the page and select cingular. You will be taken to a page descriging the black razr for cingular..sku11111. That page shows the anodized construction for the case.. 🙄
