i have been with cingular for about a year and a half. i've seen the likes of siemens come and go, also the release of LG, which sucks. what is everyones opinion on the best quality phones??
in our market the z500 and the x427 are two of the best "performing" handsets.
I own a razr and have done three warranty exchanges on it, last one i asked the rep who they get the most claims on and she said without a doubt moto and lg.
is everyone seeing that also?
what kinds of phones do you guys own? and of the new ones coming out, which ones do you want?

I use a V635 no complaints with it had for over 50 days now. Taken it to UK and US. To get it working on CW you would need to get an unlocked version though

Well I just moved from the WEX department and can tell you that Moto and LG are by far the worst devices on the market, although if someone is looking for a device w/ digital camera, quad-band and bluetooth then I can only suggest the Moto V551 (all though they still have their problems). Samsung X426/X427M is in the top ten list of best phones. Any Nokia or Samsung will do you well, they, for some reason, seem to be a little better quality device (both software and hardware). If I could afford it I would go for the Blue Angel (Siemens SX66), it just looks too cool. As far as a regular phone I would take a Samsung P207. *** Stay Away From LG, they have to many software and hardware issues ***

I hate to be rude, but i have to question the sanity of anyone who says the X427 is in the top ten of phones....i have more complaints from callers and friends about that phone than any other....

in my market it has been a top handset for about a year now. this is directly from cingular. that is the best seller in my store with the least amount of returns.

I can understand best seller, its the cheapest phone (or one of them), and least returned, well people know that you get what you pay for, but onoverall quality, including voice quality, features, etc., in my opinion no way its top ten, but thats just my opinion, everyones entitled to their own

I recently got an Audiovox SMT 5600 for myself and a razr for my fiance. The only complaint about the razr we've got is that the screen gets dirty way too easily. As for the SMT 5600, it's the best thing since sliced bread as far as I'm concerned...I replaced my ipod with it. I'd reccomend it to anyone that's tech-savvy. I had a V551 before it...it didn't have any problems, I just didn't like it. We both had V600's before that...loved them, despite their known problems.

if i had a need for a smart phone, i would buy that audiovox in a heart beat. i sold a few, and everyone that has it LOVES it. the razr is a POS, i had mine exchanged through thr warranty three times.

It just goes to show,

Everyone has an opinion and it has nothing to do with how well the phones actually perform.

Just going by pure stats I have the most returns on X427 handsets and am yet to have someone need an exchange on a Motorola of any kind.

wow, i find that so hard to believe. our motos are the WORST. i have a 551 and a razr, hate them. according to our xbm, motos and lgs are the ones with the most warranty exchanges. you obviously work in texas, a good friend of mine transfered to a store recently by fort worth as an asst manager. i wonder if it is regionalized with what phones perform better, but i find that hard to believe.

XBM doesn't take into account what % of phones have issues, just the number they exchange. Of course they exchange more V551 handsets, over the last few months it has been the #1 selling handset.

From the handsets I've sold, I think if you have a v180 or a v220 the screen will go out on you it's only a question of when. I've also seen the camera module simply stop working on the v220. If you have a v400, v500, v600 or model of that design you will also in time experience a decrease in audio volume when talking to someone. The wires to the ear piece are not connected and are only held against the speaker by pressure from the metal frame in the top half of the handset. Eventually that frame bends because of that pressure and the wires don't make a secure contact with the ear piece. The quick solution is to create more pressure between the ear piece and the frame by inserting something inside the phone (don't try this at home), but...

Well here at my lowly little agent store we get the most returns on LG's for defects, followed quickly and closely by the Moto v220's and v180's.

As far as the ones that hardly ever come back...I've only had about 3 v551's and z500a's each. And as for the RAZR, not a single one has either been complained about or returned for ANY reason. I have plenty of complaints about certain models of Nokia's, but as far as returns, I haven't actually had one come back in a LONG time.

I say this with great certainty because I'm one of only 3 sales people so if I don't actually take the return/complaint then I still have to deal with it at some point. I must also point out that those inflated numbers for the LG's and lower end Moto's may well be ...
