found out southern california is 850 mhz an 900 mhz

My mom has a old nokia that just uses the 900 frequency band an she has the miniunum 2 bars sometimes 3 or full. So for the ppl wondering what frequency cingular has in southern cali its 900 an 850. so i hope this helps a few ppl.

i think what you mean is 1900mhz.. 900 is not used in the U.S. at all... and all of california on the cingular network is PCS (a.k.a 1900mhz).... if her phone is indeed a 900 only phone then it would only be able to be used in europe/africa/asia

So what is cingular actually getting form the att/ cingular merger?

what do you mean? cingular sold off all of it's towers that were shared to tmobile in california and is now using the ATT towers.

right... which are all 1900mhz... at&t never used 850 or 900 for the gsm network, only the legacy tdma/amps networks
