Was all ready to buy Black Razr online...not available?
I have to buy the black Razr online to port my VZW number because I live in NC but have a NY number. It's not available online so I called 888-331-6651 and unfortunately the Cingy CS rep was of no help and said they didn't have the phones yet??? Okee Dokee, well the store I just came from has truck loads of them but I couldn't get ported at the store, they said I either needed to go online or basically drive to NY and buy it.

Call sales back later on, you might get a different price... but we have the ability to change the shipping and billing address to somewhere in NC.
The difficulty is that if you're for example, in NC you need to have everything in NC, number, billing address and primary place of usage. Mostly for tax purposes. You can thank the FCC for that one ;D
One suggestion, try setting up a new cingular acct based out of NC and then once thats activated, port your VZW into cingular. I dont know what that would include though, Im with the former AWS.

I have a NY Verizon number that I need to keep.
I live in North Carolina. I was told to go online but when I order the Black Razr online I would need a New York billing address to set the account up and then I could call at another time and change my billing address back to NC.
Thats no problem, I have a New York address I can use to initially set the new Cingular account up..
Problem is there are no Black Razr's to buy online.

The thing with cingular is to port your number or for att cust to migrate to the new cingular services you must have a number for that local market. LNP is for Local Number Portab...

I have customers with your problem quite a bit. I tell them to stay in the market to do all their transactions; even if they move, I tell them to get an address of a neighbor etc so that the CSA does NOT change. Any change in CSA is sure to raise a red flag.
