OK this question is about my account. a customer got a hold of my number some how so of course I had to change it. now on caller id it reads "out of area". i have called tech several times and they say everything is provisioned correctly. i have added WCAL and still doesn't change anything. i have blocked caller id still nothing. caller id has been reset several times and phone is provisioned correctly too.

any suggestions???

i'm tired of people not answering my calls because it reads "out of area"

That WCAL should be retired because it does not work. It sounds like you got a number from the wrong prefix you should change your number.

They should try emailing CNAM...they're the ones that do provide our caller ID systems...the only other thing I could possibly say is to do a disconnect/reconnect in Care/Telegence. As far as I know, the prefix isn't supposed to affect anything...at least with the wireless systems...can't say for land-line systems.

Care to expand on this. I'm not getting the "of course" part at all.

There is the occasional customer who, if they get your personal number, will call you for anything and everything including: "Why doesn't my phone work in my neighbor's bomb shelter?"

If that happens, may God save your soul!

Depending on the type of phone you have, there is a setting in the phone that blocks ur caller id from being sent.
