Cingular on DC Metro?
I've heard rumors that Cingular will be available while underground on the Metro in DC. Is this true? If so, when? Currently Verizon is the only service provider, and I am considering switching.

The rumors are true. Cingular is currently revamping their network in all of the D.C. area and are adding new antennas in several locations including the Metro.

😕 hmmm...the article talks about Capitol Hill, EPA, FCC, MCI center, etc. but there's no specific mention of Cingular adding towers to the underground Metrorail. Anyone else have info on this?

I think there may be a misunderstanding. The pedestrian & train tunnels at Capitol Hill are not the same thing as the DC Metrorail. The DC Metrorail covers (parts of) Virginia, DC, and Maryland. I don't work or live on Capitol Hill, so the improved service there does not affect me. If anyone has info regarding upcoming Cingular service on the DC Metro (http://www.wmata.com) please let me know. Thanks!! 🙂

Sorry, I recently read that article and assumed that was where I read that Cingular would be adding GSM antennas in the Metro. I do assure you however that I did read that they will be. I'm not quite sure where that particle article is located at the moment but as soon as I find it I will post it.
