How are we s'posed to compete with this unlimited text **** everyone has unlimited but cingular that doesn't make sence but wait they got rid of there top selling plan 69.99 nothin makes sence

Verizon is only unlimited when you txt msg "IN"
T-mobile from time to time offers unlimited text and well I really am not worried about T-mobile ever.
Sprint does not have unlimited if you use actual SMS messages. They have unlimited if you use their internet shortmail text system which is very slow and not worth it.
I have never lost a sale over the unlimited text. It is not that big of an issue and according to marketing in Dallas we are one of like 3 markets for Cingular that has requested unlimited text and until the majority of Cingular markets push for it constantly it will not happen.

Cingular feels to make up for lost ARPU cingular will have to charge 25.00 a month or more for unlimited text messaging. They are certain that nobody is going to pay 25.00-30 a month for unlimtied text messaging.

If you think about it, i can be on thier network for AS long as i want for free (Imagine calling one number for two or three years :lol🙂And sending a text message requires the network for....oh, about 10 seconds!

Alltel does sell unlimited text and picture messaging for 24.99 it is definetly expensive but some people are willing to pay for it believe it or not.

NOOO! When u get Sprint Unlimited Text you get unlimited E-Mail, SMS or Short Mail! And if you have Sprint PCS Vision Pack the unlimited text is only $5. Without Vision its $10.

Thats what I have, unlimited text and if you are in front of a computer all day you can log onto your sprint accnt and send messages all day and they are unlimited.

TMo is currently offering unlimited MESSAGING, i.e., both SMS and MMS for 14.99 per month. Since we have MMS agreements with everyone but Verizon and that should be ironed out shortly, this means unlimited messaging to everyone, every type, all the time, and so far no indication that the promotion is time sensitive.
I hope this is at least a tad more worrisome... 😉

I am not doubting you,and I have nothing to do with cingular but T-Mobile messaging has always been the cheapest but I just have not seen many people want to leave a company just becuase their texting is a little cheaper and I think that is what he meant. Hey that is a decent deal but people look at plans first and text is an afterthought as long as they can do it without taking out a second mortgage. LOL. Have a good day

Yes, but for someone in California who can get 1000 minutes, unlt'd N/W, nationwide for 39.99 and add unlimited messaging on top for 14.99 and get out the door for under sixty bucks a month it's a very strong incentive! How much would it cost to get the same value with Cingular? With Verizon? With Sprint? When you crunch out the numbers it starts to make a lot of sense... 😎

Yeah you are right. I was leaning more towards people are already on contract so leaving over text is not as likely and a lot of times they will just renew to get a new phone and not even consider it. That definetly makes a difference but I have had t-mobile since it was aerial back in like 2000 and it seems like the unlimited packages only stay on for a month or two and then disappear but it definetly is a cheaper way of going.

Of course, once you get the feature you can keep it pretty much forever--I just recently found out that due to a programming glitch I will be getting not 400 SMS/MMS total for 4.99, but 400 EACH--the problem has been corrected but those of us who signed up early and got it that way can keep it indefinitely, which is way cool... 😎

Yeah it is. Unfortunately I miss my 2.99 for 500 texts plan because I had to give it up when I went to the 45.99 1000 minute plan.

Yeah, what you win on the peaches you lose on the grapes... but now it's only 4.99 for 400 msgs and it includes MMS as well, which is pretty cool... 😉

Really, that is not bad at all. If only assurion would actually send me my replacement phone. It has been almost a month since I filed my claim and still no phone. I asked to waive the signature on delivery but of course the three times I did they still did not get it right after having a problem doing the claim for three weeks. Maybe now I can afford text since I will be dropping insurance this is kind of ridiculous. 😲
