Thinking About Cingular- How's the coverage areas-MA/FL
HI, I live in MA but travel a lot to Tampa, FL. Can anyone comment on reception, dropped calls, whether there's a good network for digital, and whether you like Cingular. I'm considering Cingular or Verizon based on which network is stronger re: avoiding dropped calls and having good reception. I don't care about VCast, but would like Bluetooth and a phone with a good camera. I had been looking at the 8100 on Verizon but the phone may have a volume issue. I'm thinking about either the 551 or RZR phone for Cingular unless there's one with a better camera that also has bluetooth. Any comments welcome! Thanks.

Well the RAZR, as thin as it is, has a good sturdy case, well it has to have one anyways because of it's size, and I have heard that it is great for reception. The V551, hmmm if it's anything like my V300, should be an awesome phone as well. I hope Motorola has fixed it's software issues though.

Well I am an employee from the AT&T wireless side and I haven't received my phone for service yet. I won't make any comments on customer service because that is my job so my view would be biased. Service, well I have heard both good and bad comments. It really depends on the quality of phone you get and if it was assembled properly or maybe had some bugs/gliches.
Getting a high end Motorola is a good idea as I have seen some of the lower quality phones get turned into paper weights, such as my C333. My V300, which is a few levels below the V551, has been great, some issues with software, must be this version I got. The issue is with Text Messages which I don't do so no worries.

I work in the Mass. area and have traveled a fair amount to the FL area. Coverage in and around Mass is very solid and the same goes for FL. On your handset selection you will have a better experience with the Razr vs the V551. We have has some issues with the V551 in the Mass. areas. It does not seem to hold as good as a signal when the signal is weak.
