Cingular Newb Coming.. Wisconsin In the House

devious1

Jul 25, 2005, 2:37 PM
i had just talked to C.W. and they have said that they are working from a start in the north and going to be working there way south.. is this correct???

Then the next question would be is wisconsin fully merged between the 2??? or is there still more towers to merge.???

The next question is what would be the best performing phone for cingular? i have been trying to research but things don't seem all that clear on most models.
I am looking for a camera ringer Id and good signal strength but most of all i would like to have it in a flip phone not the swivel or candy bar style..

but i would like to be able to get the phone at the time of when i sign up later next month
thats about all i am inquiring about currently thanks

I think a more accurate way of portraying cingulars's expansion would be start in the east, buy out AT&T in the west, and start expanding from there. As far as I know, Cingular has had service in Wisconsin for quite some time, it's not really new there.

As for "merging" towers, I believe that you mean converting old ATTWS towers over to Cingular? I know not every tower in the nation has been converted over yet, but they are doing it fast. And keep in mind the new towers that Cingular puts up will NOT be able to be utilized by ATT customers. It's a ploy to get you to switch over.

As for phones, right now a good phone that fits your description would be the LG1400. It is relatively low cost, good on service and has a picture call ID...

they're doing that all throughout the country. from all the reps that i used to speak with, I think the state of Georgia had it worst [thus far]. My suggestion is a Moto v551. Camera capable of video capture, nice sleek flip phone, external display and its capable of the ringer ID.

The V551 (and soon v557) are awesome phones, probably among the best Cingular has to offer. It does NOT have picture external CID though, and I believe that is what the man wants.

It has picture CID on the inside of the shell, but that's kind of useless for open to answer users.

the lg 1400 and the 1500 didnt look all that apealing from what i had seen of them in my store but i also thought that they only had group ringers. instead of ringer id? please correct me if i am wrong.. but what is the differance in the motos?? phonescoop shows the same thing from what i could tell as far as picture dispay outside it would be cool but not a necessity but on the otherhand the nokia looks cool along with a few otherones they have.. is nokie a major player in the market for cingular or gsm because there a dead basic phone in the cdma section along with my currant company verizon. just kinda curious on that..

Right now Motorola and Nokia are probably the biggest players with Cingular, with a close follow up by LG.

Moto
V180
V220
V3
V551
MPx220

Nokia
6010
3120
3220
6230
6102
6620

LG
1300
1400
7110
9100

Cingular also has a small host of Samsung, Siemens and Sony Ericssons. But as you can see Nokia dominates, with Motorola following a close second.
