Yup, as long as it has the 850 mhz band its good to go. In all reality it doesnt even necessarily need the 850 band but it is good to have to avoid roaming problems. Some states however may only use one of the bands. For example, in my state (VA) Cingular supposedly only uses the 1900 band which is found on pretty much all GSM phones. So I could technically get any unlocked GSM phone and not have any problems. But, of course, I choose to avoid any possibility of having problems. Hope this helps 😳
And I meant to add on to that that all you need to do is pop in your SIM card and the new phone is good to go. If its unbranded and unlocked then you may need to get the WAP/MMS settings for the...

not so much the freq are the same, like the previous poster said: make sure it is both 850/1900. 900/1800 is used overseas, not in the US. a majority of the US is 850 with Cingular, hence the reason we stopped carrying phones that don't use 850. hate to see you buy a phone that wont work for you. i see it in my store often.
that bring the question of doesnt cingulars roaming partners or some of the partners use something other than 850 or is the vast majority of them use 850??
