No Voicemail Alert

BeachSlapped

Ok, so for the past 3 days when someone calls me and leaves a voicemail I don't get a voicemail alert. (1 New Voicemail). Everytime I miss a call I have to call my voicemail to see if they left a message or not. At first I thought that it could be that they are integrating towers in my area... but then I decided to call cust care. They said it is a known issue with the network. Apparently Dennis (huracain) had something to do with it.
Ok, here's my disbelieve. Dennis didn't come anywhere near the North East of Florida. And this happened more than 2 weeks ago. How com NOW it's causing problems with voicemail in North East FL? Did cust care just said this to me to get me off the phone? Anyone knows what really is going on?

Go into the voicemail box system and make sure the Notification is on...
if that doesnt work then, i dont know why this works, but take the battery off and put it back in and power on should fix it... I've seen this fix it twice...

Notification has always been on. If I got $1.00 for everytime I called cust service and had them ask me to turn my phone off or take the battery out.... I wouldn't have to work in order to pay for my school tuition. I mean really, it seems like they think that turning the cell phone off fixes everything.

if the VM itself has been reset and it still isn't notifing you of messages, it may be a problem with your phone. if you can get your hands on another gsm phone, take you sim card and put it in that and see if you get notification then. if you do then it's obviously a problem with your handset. if you don't, then it's a system issue that tech support can handle. 🙂

also consider calling into customer service and having the VM reset.

forgot to say....

taking out the battery with the phone on generally doesn't help unless it is a technical problem with the phone itself
