we all know that there are many area's that AT&T customers are now able to roam for free on Cingular (due to the fact that AT&T is losing many customers)

so I wanted to bring to your attention 2 things;

1) Many of my friends who have been with Cingular for years, on the TDMA, and upgraded last year to GSM, are now canceling and going over to Verizon, (due to the fact that the Cingular's GSM is VERY BAD in North Jersey)

2) And many of my friends, (including my Parents), who have been on AT&T, (and I convinced them to try out Cingular, instead of Verizon), have tried Cingular, and have gone to Verizon, AGAIN DUE TO LACK OF "GOOD" COVERAGE HERE IN NORTH JERSEY.

Therefore I think it only makes sense, that this roaming agreement should be made a 2 way thing, I KNOW AT&T GSM HAS VERY GOOD SERVICE HERE IN NORTH JERSEY, YET PEOPLE LIKE US TRAVEL ALOT, AND AT&T DOES NOT HAVE MUCH RURAL COVERAGE, THAT IS WHY WE USE CINGULAR, (which on the other hand, does not have very good home coverage in our area)

BUT IF NOTHING CAN BE DONE, THAN ME AND MANY OTHERS (LIKE 100 OR SO) ARE ALL GOING OVER TO VERIZON.

[its also bothering to hear everyday, how "VERIZON RULES" in my area (which to be honest it does..) when all cingular has to do, is make a 2 way roaming agreement, at least in NYC and North Jersey (where we share towes with tmobile, and have BAD coverage compared to verizon), I WANT BE ABLE TO FINALY TELL MY FRIENDS WHO TEASE ME, THAT "CINGULAR RULES!!!"]

There likely wont be an agreement made since Cingular has to focus on physically putting their antennas onto our network. When the buy out gets the FCC permission, all the AT&T wireless towers will become Cingular. Expect this around the end of this year.

Actually all of the 'no roam' things happening recently are direct counterpunches to either companies offerings. ANY form of 'friendliness' between AWS and Cingular right now could hurt them BAD when its the FCC's time to decide, since it could violate anti-trust laws.
