a unlocking a phone question!!

Is it possible for me to get a unlocked phone and bring it over to cingular for them to lock it and use it on there service? I mean if i get a phone that will work on its bandwith?

why would you bring an unlocked phone just to lock it again? you could do that but i would suggest bringing it over unlocked and keeping it unlocked. 😁

You can get an unlocked phone and use it on the cingular network (as long as it's GSM, of course), but make sure that not only is the voice service unlocked (via sim/subsidy unlock code) but that it is also GPRS unlocked if you wish to ever use the internet/mms on the phone (i know t-mobile locks its phone in the t-zone).

How can you unlock the GPRS part in order for you to internet/mms, etc?

I thought it already came unlocked for those features...do you have to unlock yourself?

Reason I ask, I am thinking about buying an unlocked Nokia E70, which works fine for voice calls here on Cingular's network. I was told that it sometimes might not be able to browse internet and send mms m...
