Just spoke with a Cingular rep about the V540. She said it would be available when the Cingular PTT service is introduced on October 15.

So, if I get one phone now, and then a v540 in october, will I be able to get the current $59 famliy plan, or will I have to go up to the new $69 one?

if you have the 59.99 plan now and want to add servies onto this you can do it... right now it is 14.99 to add a line os what will happen if when the new family plans come out... you will be working off the grandfathered way of working.. 14.99 to adda line onto it rather than the current 9.99 when it comes out

uh...you are assuming that this person is already on a $59 family talk plan. if they dont have service at all, then they could not get the current family talk without at least 2 lines NOW. Starting a single line now and adding a line next month would make the new FT their only choice.

So I guess the $59.99 plan will be the cheapest one you can add a line too. It still means that their cheapest family plan is going up $10

This phone does support PTT, but PTT over GPRS, not the same PTT that Cingular will be using. It will not be one of our PTT phones. Sorry.

Then how/why did she give me the proposed pricing? Also, on Motorola's website, they list Cingular as the ONLY user for that phone.
