Cingular question on replacement phone

faq

Aug 16, 2005, 4:20 PM
My old Nokia Cingular (non SIM) phone broke, I got a Motorola V551 from a Cingular user with a SIM card. I have a second Motorola for my kid and took the SIM out and put it in the new one and it works perfect, but I want this for my phone and number from the broken phone.

So how do I go about programming the new (used) phone to work with my number?

If it was a non-SIM phone, I think you mean TDMA. You would probably have to have them convert you to a GSM plan and they would most likely need to get you a new SIM card to activate on that plan.
