So, I'm still waiting on my rebate to come in. I logged into the rebate status page and there's nothing there about the recent rebate. I emailed them and they replied on 7/31/05 with the following...

"Thank you for your interest in the Cingular Wireless Offer.
Your order has been received and is in the final stages of processing. We will be sending out your request as soon as possible.
Please allow the full time stated on the offer form for processing.
Thank you for choosing Cingular Wireless.
Sincerely,
Stephanie H.
Customer Care"

I just got off the phone and he gave me some other numbers to try calling. Is this normal? It's been 7 weeks and the form said 10-12 weeks from the time they receive and verify my information. I'...

im pretty sure you just answered your own question. it said 10-12 weeks, and you are worried after 7? rebates usually take MINIMUM 2 months (8 week) and usually 3. You'll get it soon enough.

But why doesn't it show that it's been received? That's what I'm worried about. Also, when I activated the phone, the dope put that phone on another number on my account. Reading the terms, it said the phone has to be active on that line. I didn't find out that he goofed it up until a month later. They also wanted to start the contract from the date that I called and figured it out, a month later. That's mainly what I'm worried about, them getting it, seeing it's not activated, and tossing it out.

Ok, they emailed me and said my name was entered incorrectly, which is possibly why I cannot view the status of it. They were able to give me the IMEI and phone model of the rebate thing, so my fears of it not arriving are gone. Thanks.

I would stay on top of the rebate processors. I had a customer who followed the instructions and simply waited for 10-12 weeks. At about the 13th week or so he calls and asks where is rebate is, so I called the Young America rebate processing office. The rebate rep just said "oh, we never received it [yeah right], and guess what, now its too late for him to even resubmit.". Don't trust those people -- KEEP UP THE CALLS. 👿

Considering they said it is in processing (did you give them your mobile number?) I would say you are ok.

All the first email said was that it was in processing and to wait the time I was told. This second one, they gave me my name and IMEI number, along with the phone model. They also said to wait 10-12 weeks. As long as they have that, I'm confident they have the rebate forms.

should do delivery confirmation on those letters at the post office. then call and see if the rebate centers say "we never recieved it" boolshite. then when they say that, we, the phonescoop committee, sue them. It is the best course of action I think.

Yeah, I thought of that, probably should've done that, but oh well. Too late now. They said they've received it, and I have 2 emails stating they have.
