Basic Question - Roam on AT&T Networks?

I have an MPX220 which "roams" inside my apartment. The provider is still Cingular but it is showing roaming.

Is it roaming because it is using an AT&T tower?

Northern VA.

Thanks,
Mark

It depends could also be network integration but your phone should show cingular but not all phones do if you are on a national plan it really should not matter unless you are with the legacy attws and had a charter plan or a mb national plan.

Thanks - The phone shows Cingular as the provider, but also displays the roam indicator. I do see two cingular networks in range.

Yes, I have the national plan, but was just curious.

Thanks,
Mark

I have a Sony Ericcson Z500a and I have the same issue. Sometimes I'll roam on Centennials towers but yet my phone still says Cingular. Never figured that out since GSM phones are supposed to show the carrier you are currently on.

Interesting - but i guess if there are no raoming charges, it is just having to ignore the roam sign

And get my smartphone to synch the same amount as when it is not roaming.

if you have a national plan its nothing to be concerned about and with the network inegration happening your going to get weirder stuff showing on the alpha tag
