****ty phones? If motos are so bad. How is it that they are the second largest cell phone maker in the world? (behind nokia)

I think most plp who don't like motorola phones, don't like them cuz they have a different navigation menu. Anyone going from an easy-ass Nokia to a Motorola is going to wish to go back to their Nokia phone. cuz they are soo easy to use. My mother got a moto and at first she hated it. She couldn't even check missed calls and stuff. Now, that woman had the nerve to put me on hold so she could send a txt msg 👿 I was like: oh no you didn't! She loves her V551. She was very close ...

lmao!!!

nah...i dont mind the moto set up, i actually like it better than nokias honestly. the set up that is. my first moto was a v400, then a 551, then v600 and now the black razr

what i miss about nokias that motos lack is great signal strength in most places and great battery life. motorolas are mostly cosmetic in my opinion.

IMO, the V3 has the beat reception of any phone i have used. I also like Motos for their "hackability" i added video recording to my V3 and some other minor adjustments, which you can't do with other phones. 😉

i also changed the outside display from the Cingular logo when open to a Buffalo Sabres logo. also enabled the Engineering menu, and new phone software also gives the ability to seach your phonebook by name, rather than the "jump-to" method.

easy to do if you learn how to do it. great place to start is www.motomodders.net

Problem with Motorolas is buggy software and issues where they constantly need to be powercycled. They are very finicky phones and not very stable software.

Jinx, it's good to see we have another flash/flexer here 😁

Modding your moto... the coolest thing ever. Try this out: Open up your RAZR. Type in *#9999#

Up comes your phone's software versions and hardware versions.

Where it says "S/W Version", this is the firmware that is on the phone. It's basically your operating system.

Where it says "Flex version", this is the information that is put on the phone to "brand" it to a certain company. For example, Cingular's Flex will have MEdia Net as part of the menu, and T-Mobile's flex will have Get More and T-Zones.

No what most people DON'T know, is that these two things are EXTREMELY easy to upgrade or change. Most of the Vxxx series (V300, V330, V400, V551, V600) use a S/W v...

you hit it on the nose, motorola's have a crappy nav system, especially when most menu options have two seperate menus atatched to them. Why then would motorola continue in defiance of the mobile public. There's a basic standard all cell companies use for their os, like nokia, samsung, lg, sony-ericson, etc. Its moto that has the problems with retaining customers because they wont change the os. This is also why motorola usually has new, innovative designs, because they will not change internally. But looks only last so long for me and other customers, just ask my ex-girlfriend and my old moto phone.

Great. Well if you would look into it, the new 3G Motorolas have a new LINUX based operating system. If you'll notice, the keypads on the V3x and A910 don't have the standard Motorla "menu" button with the 3 little horizontal bars. They answered everyone's cries and are revamping. The new systems reminds me a lot of Sony Ericsson's, which I hate.

I love motorolas current OS system, I feel it is very intuitive. I guess no one else agrees with me though so whatever.
