Sony Ericsson's Z520a
I was just checking out this phone here on Phone Scoop and I was wondering if Cingular will be getting this phone (seeing as they already have the Z500a) anytime soon. I really like it and I would definitely sign up with Cingular just for this phone! 😉 Also how good ARE S.E. phones?? 😕

I have the z500a and it is the most reliable phone that I have had yet. For the price, it is packed with every feature (except for bluetooth) that I could ask for. In general I think that Sony Ericsson phones provide the best reception next to Nokias. The construction of SE phones is usually very sturdy too. I have dropped my z500 in my driveway countless times and have yet to find a scratch on it.
The z520 looks like it is simply building on the already great z500. It is a little smaller and lighter, it has a larger external display, better TFT internal display (as opposed to STN on the z500), and includes more features such as bluetooth not included in the z500. Overall I expect the z520 to be one of Cingular's best selling phones...

Thanks for the info. Oh one other thing I wanted to ask... My Sprint contract is up in October and I was wondering if this phone would be available then? If not would the S710a be a good alternative to this phone?? 😕

There is not set date for the z520 release but I would assume that the release would be around this time. It's scheduled to be released by Sony Ericsson sometime in Q3.
If this phone is not available by the time you want to sign your contract you have two options.
1. Get the s710 and switch if out for the z520 if it is released within 30 days of signing your contract.
2. Get the s710 and stick with it.
The s710 is an awesome phone. Quite possibly the best phone that Cingular offers currently, or has ever offered. It has every last feature you could possibly think to have in a phone, and the camera is a 1.3 megapixel camera.
