How to win over Verizon loyalists.

1: We have the largest voice and data network in the country, not Verizon. Their adds don't say it anymore
2: Plans are exactly the same on individual line. add-a-line is 9.99 for both. Both off nights, weekends, no roaming, free ld, and mobile-to-mobile. Difference: Rollover included at same price.
3: Edge internet. Verizon is still running at 56k in several areas of the country, especially the west. Edge is in place everywhere at 120-160k
4: The winning network type. GSM is international. Everyone else (Europe, Asia, Africa, etc) has chosen to go with the same system as cingular. Verizon has Sprint behind em, Cingular has the rest of the world with em.
4: $6billion put into building more towers, even though we already have the...

Funny... in my area (SF/SJ Bay Area), Cingular's add-a-line is still 14.99.

I added two lines on 8/12, and it was indeed still 14.99 per line. If this changes on 9/1, what recourse do I have. 😡

or come to Verizon where you can backdate and/or future date plan changes to avoid the "proration issues".

Oh yeah, and not to mention that Cingular rates near LAST in nearly every poll for call quality, customer care, and overall cellular experience. Who rates at the top in EVERY poll?

give me the actual studies and we'll see. You can say "in every poll we are good and you suck" all you want but give us the numbers and links. pony up, eaglefan. give us customer satisfaction, call quality, and churn rates, along with contract renual rates. then you can feel like a fool when your lies are exposed after your own discrepancies. 😢

ps, please make it a credable source, not gary's cellular blog. ie: find a washington times, cnn, time, newsweek, etc. and your asst managers word isnt credable, no matter how much he swears by it 🤣

So that reference you made to EVERY poll really just meant ONE Consumer Reports survey?

Get real. 🙄

i agree with ruff. and i saw that report as well, and it said qwest did better than verizon in denver, so how does that show your quality. Also, you still didnt provide numbers or links so you're still not valid.

If you want some facts--how about JD Power--it rates cell phone service, broken down by regions. You'll notice that Verizon is at or near the top in all regions. And Cingular seems to be always near the bottom.

Also, Consumer Reports, year after year, in every single city it tested, has Verizon as no. 1. Can't provide a link as you have to be a member of their site to log in ($2.50 per month I think), or buy the magazine.

Muchdrama is right. You can cite "facts" and statistics all day long--- but in my area (northern New Jersey) there's just no doubt that Verizon's service has far greater "depth" and reliability. I say this as an AT&T (now Cingular) customer for over 10 years. The only reason I've stayed with Cignular is because of the international coverage. Try taking the train in to New York City from Northern NJ--- people next to me on Verizon can mantain a call from beginning to end. I have coverage maybe 70% of the trip.

Unfortunately, no. If that were true, then cingular would have been legally forced to pull their "largest voice and data network" ad campaign. but as for your area, i apologize cingular isnt built up their yet. the major thing is that in the west, cingular is superior in the data network. I'm fully aware that their service kicks trash in the east, as well as the high speed data network you have. wonderful. however, because att and cingular are now togetherish, thier service is the best in the west. A large factor in that is that their high speed data is in full operation everywhere, wheras verizon's is still in select areas in the west.

I would hardly call edge a comparison to evdo it's not even close!!! So the west may have edge an old mediocre data service, while verizon is implementing the future of data. So many cingular fan boys even after every major local and national repoting and testing agency gives all the highest awards to verizon and all the bottom of the barrel to cingular! I mean c'mon even t-mobile scores higher than cingular everywhere what a joke!!!
