Apple has issued invitations for a press release scheduled sometime next week. I've read up on it from a few RSS feeds, but I don't know exactly what day it will be on. With the announcement of Cingular carrying that phone, I suspect this is what the press release will be concerning. Apple loves to keep a closely shut mouth on their products until the day of release, so we've been lucky to get the few leaks that we've gotten. I would expect a flood of information on it, as well as photos sometime next week.

Nope, it's 25. You could get more songs with a regular phone and a memory card.

I don't think they would market a "music phone" with that small of a capacity. Besides, everything I've read states otherwise, that it will be available with either 256 or 512 MB of storage. That means up to 120 songs. Check out this article: http://www.thinksecret.com/news/0509ipod.html

I know it's not going to be as large in capacity as an iPod, and I think the reasoning was some agreement with Cingy. My memory could be failing me, but I think I remember reading about it. Cingy of course wants you to download music wirelessly so they can make money off it, and Apple doesn't make much of iTunes anyway so they don't really care if you have to plug it in or download the music directly.

Apple doesn't want to shoot itself in the foot by making a product that would outshine their Ipod.

It couldn't until a new type of battery is developed. If you're using that for the phone and the iPod it's not going to last long without recharging.

It actually has a new type of battery that will run on bullshit. Every time a rep tells you that they are spending billions of dollars to upgrade their network, and they are sorry for any inconvenience, the phone will run for 10 hours.
